Cyber Security Technical Architect (Contract)

Location: City of London Country: UK Rate: Market Rates - PAYE
 

Cyber Security Technical Architect - Financial Services - London - 6 months contract - hybrid (3 days office/2 days wfh)

We are seeking a talented and experienced Cyber Security Technical Architect to join our client, a large commodities house, based in city of London on an initial 6 monthc contract. You should have extensive Security Architecture and Cyber experience with the relevant certifications as well as experience of the various security technologies and governance to ensure performance to the highest standards.

Division Summary:
Architecture serves a pivotal role in transforming the IT landscape to facilitate the bank to achieve its business objective. It enforces the discipline of thorough design processes from the conception to the delivery of a strategy or change. It works closely with other key functions such as business change and IT delivery to develop competencies to better serve our business aspirations.

Job Purpose:

  • As a Cyber Security Technical Architect, you will play a pivotal role in safeguarding the bank's digital assets.
  • The role will be reporting into the Head of Architecture and with a dotted line to the Head of IT Risk and Cybersecurity.
  • The Cyber Security Technical Architect will collaborate closely with application and infrastructure teams to design robust Business and IT solutions that adhere to the agreed minimum security standards and aim for leading security practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain a security architecture process that enables the enterprise to develop and implement secure solutions and capabilities that are clearly aligned with business, technology, and threat drivers.
  • Define and deliver security architecture governance, ensuring that all IT projects and key initiatives are in alignment with our core security principles and the overall IT strategy.
  • Support the application and infrastructure teams in integrating security by design principles into their project life cycles.
  • Provide expertise in security systems and architectures, cybersecurity trends, and emerging threats.
  • Lead the development of security architecture and principles. Input into the development and updates of Technology Risk led standards.
  • Work with the Technology Risk team to evaluate and mitigate risks, ensuring that IT frameworks and methodologies incorporate best practices in information security.

Required Skills, Knowledge, Experience and Values:

  • Proven experience as a Security Architect or similar role in a financial services environment.
  • Strong understanding of security by design principles and IT risk management.
  • Knowledge of current IT security technologies and infrastructure.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate complex security concepts to a broad range of technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Relevant certifications (eg, CISSP, CISM, SABSA, TOGAF) are highly desirable.
